  • Measuring Cups

Measuring cups help you measure your ingredients properly, which allows you to follow the recipe that you’re following accurately. This is great for beginners because most of the time, you’ll find yourself following a recipe online than winging it.

Although baking isn’t quantum physics, there is one thing that you should always follow, or it would turn into a disaster. And that is, using products in the right amount. Even professional bakers measure their raw products before baking.

And that is important because baking is all about the proper balance of ingredients. What makes a brownie different from a chocolate cake is the amount and ratio of ingredients. So as a beginner, you need to own a measuring cup.

  • Baking tins or pans

Like how you need pots and pans to cook food on the stove, you also need baking tins and pans to bake your desired food.

Many kinds of baking pans in the market come in different shapes, sizes, and materials. Although you don’t need to stock up in every type, owning a few basic ones will help you bake a variety of items. While buying baking pans, please don’t fall for its look but rather its durability and effectiveness.

Many people use cooking pans that are used on the stove to bake items like cakes or pudding. While it may work for a few recipes, it won’t be effective for many bakery products. So it is better to have a few basic baking pans or tins in your pantry.

  • Baking trays

Most ovens come with baking trays, but you should stock up on at least two baking trays if you don’t have one.

Baking trays are crucial to bake several dishes like baking pizzas, chicken, croissants, cookies, macaroons, etc. Which is why owning a baking tray is crucial.

And even if we assume that you didn’t need a baking tray for baking these dishes, you’ll still need it as a support to hold up other dishes in the oven. Whether if it is for holding up heavy pots and pans or holding water for baking crème Brule or pudding, baking trays are a crucial baking tool.

  • Hand or stand mixer

Baking is all about mixing different ingredients in the right consistency. There is almost no recipe for which you don’t need to mix ingredients. So having a mixer is always handy.

As the name suggests, mixers will help you mix your raw ingredients. Of course, you can manually mix things too, but it takes up a lot of time and energy. Many recipes require you to mix ingredients at a fast pace consistently to get the desired outcome. Such as beating egg whites. You can’t achieve that as fast and accurately as a mixer.

So to save up your time and energy every time you bake, you should have a mixer. And if you want to save more energy, than you can buy a stand mixer instead of a hand mixer. With a stand mixer, all you need to do is pour ingredients into the bowl and wait till it’s done.

  • Ramekins

Ramekins are small-sized containers perfect for baking cremebrulee, souffle, pudding, mini cheesecakes, and many more.

You can use an electronic hand or stand mixer to do it, but having a whisker is hand for times you’re only whisking one egg or a small serving. For which you don’t need to bring out the mixer and plug it in.

  • Parchment paper

If you plan on baking food like cakes, cookies, or brownies, you need parchment paper to line your tins.

Before using any baking tin, pans, or trays, you need to line it with a non-stick surface so that the food doesn’t stick to it. Using butter and flour takes up a lot of time and effort. And sometimes, that process can get frustrating. Trust me, I know.

That is why parchment paper is convenient. Whether you’re baking a cake, brownie, or cookies, all it takes is cutting it the way you want and placing it on your tray or tin.

  • Rubber spatula

Baking always involves wet ingredients. But whenever you need to shift the wet ingredients from the bowl to your pan, it is quite a mess unless you own a rubber spatula that will make it a lot easier.

Spatulas are designed to scoop out the batter in an effective way. Its flat surface and curved design are perfect for scooping out wet ingredients from your bowl, even from the corners. You can also flatten your batter using its plain side. And the rubber makes it easy for you to clean it too.

Using a regular spoon or other tools instead of a spatula will take more time and effort. And baking has many steps, so it’s always wiser to shorten each step to make the baking process a lot easier.
